Initial Background Check
At Roots Citizenship, we conduct an initial background check using global databases to identify any potential issues that could lead to rejection. This crucial step allows us to address risks effectively, such as preparing an affidavit or suggesting alternative programs. Managed by our certified Anti-Money Laundering Officer, this review reduces your risk of rejection to just 1%. To understand how to avoid common pitfalls in your second citizenship application, take our quick test.
Document Preparation
Roots Citizenship lawyers prepare a detailed list of required documents. Investors provide passports, certificates, bank statements, and other personal and financial records. We handle the notarization of copies, translation of documents, completion of necessary forms, and creation of written statements or affidavits for the Citizenship by Investment (CBI) program application.
Due Diligence & Application Processing
Roots Citizenship submits the prepared documents to the St. Lucia CBI unit, where Due Diligence is conducted. The CBI unit reviews the reputations and financial backgrounds of all applicants. This process is required for the investor and all family members over 16. As part of Due Diligence, an interview is conducted, which can be completed in person or online in English.
Approval & Completion of Investment Requirements
Once the CBI unit approves the application, Roots Citizenship is notified. Following this, the investor must fulfill the investment requirement by transferring the necessary funds to the state fund, purchasing bonds or real estate, or investing in a business or infrastructure project. The investment must be completed within 90 days.
Approval & Completion of Investment Requirements
Roots Citizenship prepares the necessary documents, including the oath of allegiance and birth certificates, and submits them to St. Lucia. The naturalisation certificate is issued within 4 weeks. Once citizenship is granted, a passport is also issued.
