Jordan Citizenship
Hashemite Kingdom citizenship for qualifying investors — anchored in official government criteria.
Jordan's Citizenship by Investment framework, governed by the Council of Ministers, grants Hashemite Kingdom nationality to investors who deposit capital with the Central Bank, subscribe to treasury bonds, acquire shares in Jordanian companies, or establish productive projects creating real employment for Jordanians. Successful investors first receive a three-year provisional Jordanian passport — with full rights of a citizen except political rights — and are granted full citizenship after the three-year period upon verified compliance with the program's conditions.

FAQ
Frequently asked
Is the Central Bank deposit refundable?+
Yes — the US$1,000,000 deposit at the Central Bank of Jordan is held interest-free for 3 years and returned in full upon expiry of the holding period, provided no early withdrawal occurs.
Do I need to live in Jordan?+
There is no general residency requirement for the citizenship routes. The treasury-bond route, however, requires the investor to be physically present in Jordan for at least one month before the final recommendation is signed.
When do I receive a Jordanian passport?+
After the Council of Ministers approves the file, the investor is issued a provisional Jordanian passport valid for 3 years. Full citizenship is then granted after 3 years upon confirmation of continued compliance.
Which family members are included?+
The investor's spouse, unmarried, widowed or divorced daughters in their care, children under 18 at the time of application, and dependent parents. Where the qualifying investment exceeds US$3,000,000, sons up to 30 years old, their wives and grandchildren are also included.
What are the employment requirements for the project routes?+
Inside Amman Governorate, the project must create 20 real jobs for Jordanians (US$1M minimum capital). Outside Amman, 10 real jobs for Jordanians (US$750,000 minimum capital). All hires are verified through Social Security records, with a 4-month grace period after operational launch to complete the workforce.
Is dual citizenship allowed?+
Yes. Jordanian law permits dual or multiple citizenship without restriction.
What if I prefer residency rather than citizenship?+
Investors and qualifying individuals may obtain a 5-year Jordanian residency by purchasing real estate worth JD 200,000+ (per Land Department appraisal), held without sale or mortgage for 5 years, by decision of the Minister of Interior on the recommendation of the Investors Committee.
